our notes
Until I get my Computer Security links updated (and more) copied over from my other website - feel free to browse at Respect2Glory.150m.com
(Note the floating menu bar with mouseover comments!)
Clif and I collect these links for our personal computing needs, including:
Downloads - Drivers - Fonts+Icons - Help Forums - HTML - Search and Security links - and various free scanning websites and scanning software to help keep our computers running smooth.
There is so much freeware readily available, that we just can't imagine spending much money on software that changes constantly! Actually, in over a decade of surfing the web, we've pretty much stuck to purchasing the bare necessities; Windows Operating Systems, a few choice software games/programs, URL's and web-space (we've reverted to uploading into email/gmail). Otherwise, we upgrade or replace computer components when needed.
We've used most Windows Operating Systems since Win 3.1
Have you noticed how most software begins as a BETA, or version 1.0?
Do you think that we have enough OSs needing upgrades?
Vista? Don't even ask... we're not even going to consider owning this OperatingSystem. Neither are hundreds of other businesses (if not more). I believe it's a money monopoly issue besides the time required for new systems and OS revisions. Afterall, just how many OSs does Micro$oft think we need?! Actually, many retailers (even MS) are offering an OS-REVERT back to WinXP from WinV. Check the manufacturer's site BEFORE PURCHASE. Btw, Clif and I have used all of the Windows OSs and own a copy of most of them.
More of the truth should be known! Every OS need revisions. When MS stops supporting an OS, it's to force an upgrade. Yes, you read that right. MS demands that you pay them for a new OS if you want to legally support an older system. Businesses have finally caught on and have demanded that MS continue supporting WinXP.
What else? Do a search for our military persons that buy computers while they're deployed. You're probably going to find some dirt on this subject. Computers are mainly bought by people for chat and email with their family and friends. It's a shame that they don't know enough to get these systems back up and running when WinVista shuts its services down and when the OS shuts down (permanently, as far as they know!). Most of these people think that their computers aren't usable any longer. For lack of tech support, some computers sit or are shipped home, defeating their original purpose!
Just before hearing about our troups computer woes, I read where Bill Gates has donated literally millions of dollars to various organizations. Is there a real heart in there, Bill?
Can you say Hasta La Vista Windows Vista?
(this links to google's 338,000,000 results)
Did you know that Microsoft is honoring OS reversions to only businesses for Vista to return to WinXP? Manufacturing Retailers are offering the OS-REVERT to all buyers!
Google: your computer's name and XP revert OR reversion
reversion:
an act or the process of returning (as to a former condition)
We should begin with circulating MS's contact information in email and websites
- to let them know that everyone prefers WinXP over Vista!
HOT TIPS: Did you know that you can contact Micro$oft for FREE about their security issues?
-
Yes, it is FREE to get your Windows computer's security issues fixed, if available.
-
Most Service Packs can be sent to you via an absolutely FREE CD-Rom from Micro$oft, and postage-free too.

PERSONAL NEWS
Well, it's become many busy months lately. With family issues and illnesses, I've done my best to help them with what needs done. I'm tired from all the running. It's a bit refreshing, yet quite demanding, to have our 6 year old neice living with us for a few weeks while a brother-in-law resides in OSU Hospital while battling Leukemia. While another brother-in-law is battling another blood disease which resembles Leukemia, over time, he's spent more time in the hospitals and doctor's offices. Although they have never met, they look more like brothers because of the deep strain of their illnesses.
Last week, my Dad got a bad report from one of a series of tests that were ran while he was in the hospital for a few days, which was diagnosed as pneumonia on the 2nd day. Hopefully, this week we should have good results about a spot found on his lung.
Your prayers in Jesus' name are much appreciated.
